Bonanza – Credit for a Kill

Season 8 (Episode 7)

Air Date: 23 October 1966

Writer: Frederic Louis Fox

Director: William F. Claxton

Synopsis
While on his way to Elson, Joe stops off at the Tanner place. He and Morgan Tanner are walking up to the house when they come across a rider, who is stealing Tanner’s horse. Both men are shot at by the thief. In self-defence, both Joe and Morgan shoot at the same time, killing the thief. They take the body to Elson and explain things to Sheriff Fenton. He tells them that the man they killed was Luke Jordan – a wanted man with a $2,000 bounty on his head. Since neither Joe or Morgan know who fired the fatal bullet, they agree to share the reward. Things change drastically, when Luke Jordan’s brothers arrive on the scene and Joe decides to keep the reward all to himself.
